Lenses and Photography vocabulary

I would use a telephoto lens to take pictures of the environment in Austin, Texas.

I would use prime lens to take pictures of the buildings in Europe.

Depth of field - Range of distances between the nearest and the furthest object. It is related to take better pictures because focus in front and behind the subject making it acceptably sharp.

Light (angle and intensity) - The range of tones of the light. It is related to take better pictures because it helps to arrange the picture clearer or darker and also taking the photo from the best angle.

Shadow - Affects the dark parts of the picture. It is related to take better pictures because it adds emotions to the photo.

Diffusion - Soften the details of a photography by scattering the light. It is related to take better pictures because reduce glare and harsh shadows.

Exposure - It is the amount of light allowed when taking a picture. It is related to take better pictures because depending on how the picture is exposed it will come out too dark or too light.

Aperture (F-stop) - Measures the size of the lens opening. It is related to take better pictures because determines the angle of a bundle of rays that come to a focus in an image.

Shutter speed - It is the amount of time that the shutter is open. It is related to take better pictures because depending how long it is open regulates the amount of light the picture is exposed.

ISO - Measures the sensitivity of the image sensor. It is related to take better pictures because it helps to the clarity of the photo depending on how wide the opening is.
